Jadae Mayes is a self-taught artist residing in Long Island, NY. At 7 years old, she dabbled into art by drawing cartoons out of her favorite books. By the age of 12, she wanted to challenge herself in drawing portraits. It was until then that she used art as a way of expressing her emotions. As she grew older, she explored different mediums and styles in which painting was introduced to her. Through her work, her ability to pay attention to detail and emotions can connect to the viewer by creating a sense of familiarity. Jadae wants to use her art to communicate with the world in hopes of letting them know that they are not alone in whatever they go through.
